The Police Department offers competitive salaries to its employees. Starting salary for employees of the Police Department is $36,239 for a non-certified officer and $38,051 for a certified officer. Once a non-certified officer has completed the academy and field training they with receive a 5% raise to bring them up to a certified officer's salary.

The Department also has medical and dental insurance for its officers. The Culpeper Police Department also participates in the Virginia Retirement System (VRS) for its officers with supplemental retirement programs available to the officers.
