Auxiliary officers are unpaid citizen volunteers who are not armed and are not authorized to make arrests.
Auxiliary officers are not DCJS-certified, but are fully trained to perform those tasks and duties to which they are assigned. The primary role of Auxiliary personnel is to supplement the work of the Police Department.
