Culpeper Police Department
Receives Award for Traffic Safety Programs
Each year the Culpeper Police Department prepares a comprehensive statistic overview on the efforts of our traffic safety programs. This book is submitted to the Virginia Association of Police for review and is judged on the quality of the programs. This year there were 52 entries. Culpeper Police Department's book was judge in Catergory III which is for departments with less that 50 officers. Culpeper received first place in the catergory and also receive first place overall in the Child Safety and Bike/Pedestrian Safety divisions. The Department also received second place on the National level. This was the first year that Culpeper Police Department has ever received National recongition for their traffic safety programs.

Chief Scott Barlow and Officer Timothy Sisk accepted the awards in August 2009 in
Newport News, VA.

Master Police Officer Timothy Sisk accepted the National award in October 2009 in
Denver, CO.
