2009 Internal Affairs Summary Report

During 2009 the agency investigated eight internal affairs cases.  Of those eight cases, six were generated from citizen complaints, while two were initiated internally.   The dispositions were as follows: three were sustained, two exonerated, one not sustained and two unfounded.  There were  three cases of conduct unbecoming an officer, one case of differential treatment, one case of rudeness, one case of excessive force, one case of discharging a firearm, and one case involving Perjury/Obstruction of Justice/Abuse of Authority.  The agency saw a 46% decrease in Internal Affairs investigation from 2008 to 2009.  Below you can see the chart for internal affairs investigations for 2009.
