The Culpeper Police Department is asking for the community’s assistance in helping to solve a series of larcenies from vehicles in the Golf Drive and Green’s Court communities of the Town of Culpeper. From February 27th to March 10th, there have been six cars entered and valuables stolen from the vehicles. These vehicles are usually parked on the street overnight and left unlocked. Citizens are urged if they see anyone suspicious in these areas, especially in the nighttime hours, to immediately call the Communications Center at (540) 727-7900 to report the activity.
If anyone has any information or a tip in reference to these crimes is urged to call Culpeper CrimeSolvers at (540) 727-0300 or they can contact Detective Susan Bartee of the Culpeper Police Department at (540) 727-3430 ext. 334. A cash reward will be offered for anyone with information that leads to an arrest in these cases.
Citizens should take the following steps to help protect them from these types of crimes:
- Citizens should always secure and lock their vehicles when leaving their vehicle unattended.
- Citizens should take all valuables out of their vehicles when parking overnight and secure them inside their residences.
- Citizens who leave their vehicle unattended, and are not at their residence, are encouraged to secure their valuables in the trunk of the vehicle.
- Citizens should never leave any valuables in plain sight.
